What is Kosen Judo?
- Created at the end of 19th century Kosen Judo is a variation of the Kodokan judo competitive ruleset
- Kosen judo allows extended fighting time without interruption on the ground (ne-waza) similarly to Brazilian jiu jitsu
- Unlike mainstream Kodokan competition rules, kosen rules allow hikikomi (pulling-in), enabling competitors to transition to ne-waza by dragging their opponent down without using a recognised nage-waza technique (analogous to pulling guard)

Why a Kosen Judo class?
Kosen judo is an alternative style of Judo with different rule sets. In addtion to tachi waza (throwing techniques) like in traditional Judo, Kosen Judo allows leg grabs and unlimited Ne waza fights (groud technique).
