Chris Cohen is a San Francisco based beer geek. He's one of just 149 Advanced Cicerones®, a National BJCP judge, a former contributing beer writer for SeriousEats.com and the SF Chronicle, and is the co-founder and a current Board Member of the SF Homebrewers Guild, San Francisco's main homebrew club. In 2016 he opened one of San Francisco's best beer bars - Old Devil Moon.

Chris occasionally consults for bars and restaurants to help them take their beer programs to the next level. He also produces a variety of beer events and beer paired dinners at Old Devil Moon and other fine establishments. Beer geeks know that any project Chris is involved with comes with excellent beer served with all the respect it deserves — but never with gatekeeping or snobbery. Chris takes beer seriously, but for him it’s all about having fun and building community.

Chris is an attorney and a member of the NY state bar. He applied the techniques he used to pass one of the nation’s most difficult bar exams to passing the Cicerone® exams. He can help you crush the Cicerone Certification Program exams, too!
