PROFESSIONAL MINDS IS PROUD TO PRESENT
Practical
Strategies
for managing today's key learning challenges
Global statistics have confirmed the increasing prevalence of childhood diagnosis and now, following almost 2 years of a Pandemic, disrupted school attendance and global anxiety, an increase in the number of children presenting with dual diagnoses.
This has resulted in the overlap of diagnoses, symptoms and behaviours, which has challenged Paediatric Professionals, making it difficult for them to effectively interpret behaviours and reducing the impact and efficacy of their previously successful interventions and traditional teaching & treating methods…
- Why can a child who reads perfectly not know how to answer the questions that follow?
- Why doesn’t silent reading help this child’s reading fluency?
- How do you curb impulsivity and get a child who can’t sit still to follow instructions?
- Why do children seem to know their work perfectly on one day and forget it the next day?
- Why should we teach ADHD learners differently? Why do they learn so well this way?
- Is it an Attention difficulty or poor Auditory Processing (APD) that causes a child 'not to listen' in class?
- How do you teach a dyslexic child, if they struggle to read?
- If a child has obsessive tendencies, do we try to replace these with more socially acceptable behaviours or do we restrict them completely?
- What is rigidity of thought? How do you teach a child who struggles to generalize information?
- Can ASD and ADHD co-exist and how do we deal with sensory induced anxiety?
- What is the gift of Neurodiversity and if so, how can we optimise it?

Every unique learning challenge requires a specific approach and intervention strategies, and Paediatric Professionals are responsible for correctly interpreting all the presenting learning challenges, having access to the best, most up to date, effective PRACTICAL SKILLS and STRATEGIES and knowing exactly which ones to employ and when, in order to address each child’s learning needs timeously and successfully!
